What Money Can’t Buy

January 20, 2009

A minister was speaking to the Sunday school about the things money can’t buy. “It can’t buy laughter and it can’t buy love” he told them. Driving his point home he said, “What would you do if I offered you $1,000 not to love your mother and father?” Stunned silence ensued. Finally a small voice queried, “How much would you give me not to love my big sister?”

Prosperity, money and luck are among the few words you will hear this Chinese New Year, but I am curious to know your opinion on the following question:

List one thing you know that money can’t buy and tell me why on this blog, ya!

Faith Like That

January 8, 2009

A reading from Acts 14 really challenged me for 2009.

“Now some Jews arrived from Antioch and Iconium and turned the crowds into a murderous mob.
They stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city, apparently dead.
But as the believers stood around him, he got up and went back into the city.
The next day he left with Barnabas for Derbe.”

Acts 14:19-20

Do you see the depth, strength and perseverance of Paul’s faith?
Paul is stoned and then gets back up and keeps going forward in his ministry for God!

Next thing you know, he is praying for the elders in the churches – after nearly getting stoned to death!

No complaints,  no grudges, no fear, no give up!

I was like, “WOW!!” I want a faith like that…

We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed”
2 Cor 4:8-9

This reminds me of a Christian song by Jonah33
called “Faith Like That
that goes like this:

“Oh I, I want Faith Like That
Whatever the cost
I’ll suffer the loss, Oh I
I want the Faith That can move any mountain
and send them to the sea
I want the Faith that can break every stronghold
That keeps you, keeps you from me…”

Please join me in memorizing and meditating on a verse of Scripture :
“Pray without ceasing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:17 KJV

Who Rules Hell?

January 4, 2009

hell-11gI was discussing about hell the other day and the question “who rules hell” pop up.

Who do you think rules hell?
Choose one of the following options and tell me why you think that’s the answer in this blog.

A] An all-loving God rules hell as well as heaven.

B] Satan & his minions (konco-konco) rules hell with iron fist but now he is busy tricking people into hell.

C] Hell-ians (the occupants of hell for eternity) rules hell either with democracy, monarchy or communist.

D] Hades, the god of the under world

E] Don’t know & don’t care cause I’m 100% that I’m going to heaven.

By the way, if you have any question about HELL, do post it on this blog and let’s see how much we all know about hell – and was the info from the Bible?
