G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero actually starts off as Hasbro’s action figure (toy) which was animated as cartoon back in 1983 by Marvel Comics.
By the way, G.I. Joe stands for Global Integrated Joint Operating Entity.
This is not the first time G.I. Joe is mode into a movie, but the first time it was done by real live cast into the blockbuster cinema.
The story line is not that bad. You can follow what the movie is trying to show, but you can almost always predict what’s gonna happen next.
There are lots of flashbacks in memories to give a little bit of history of the characters for those who don’t grow up with G.I. Joe.
The technology, gadgets, weapons and armour are cool, but a little bit fake.
The dialogue is ok only. Not many thought-provoking quotes and a little bit of humour here and there. This movie also doesn’t provoke your emotion or sentiments.
The way they end this movie is not that good and if you are smart enough, you would have guessed how part 2 is going to begin.
Overall, this movie feels like Transformer 1 in the beginning and Star Wars at the end. Also, the storyline lacks depth.
1) HUMMER H2 Car is every where in the first part and they keep blowing it up! Gimme one!
2) Korea’s super start Lee Byung Hun is casted as Storm Shadow. He really brings out the Ninja feel.
3) Baroness’ super high tech sun glass
What I don’t like about this movie:
1) The way this movie shows on how people are killed. That’s why this movie is rated 13 PG.
2) The clothes for female character is a bit sexy, but still okay compared to Transformer.
Lastly, the way this movie portray the world domination reminds me of Antichrist in the Bible.
Here are some of the photos for you:
1) General Hawk
2) Duke
3) Rip Cord
4) Scarlet (I really like her accelerator suit in the movie)
Destro (McCullen)
9) Baroness/Ana
(they found Sienna Miller that looks like Barones in the cartoon and die her hair black)
10) Storm Shadow (really like Byung hun who played this cool-villian) ![]()

11) Zartan
(totally different person in the movie compared to the cartoon)
One last thing:
There is actually an animated series called “G.I. Joe Transformers War” which took place in 1988, and resulted in the Autobots/Joe Alliance (AJA) gaining control over the Union of Decepticon and Cobra Forces’ (UDCF)
whoah… haha I didn’t know about the transformer G.I Joe alliance thingy.. Cool. Thanks
